The South Shelby Golf team shot a 166 at Palmyra tonight but came up short against Palmyra 162-166 but defeated Clark County. Casen Glover tied for medalist honors with a 38 followed by Cole Mitchell with a 39. Great improvement over last few weeks! #CardinalPride

South Shelby finished 2nd in Palmyra JV tourney....Dax Durbin was the medalist!!! Elijah Kline was third overall!
South Shelby Greenhouse is in full bloom. Mrs. Mefford's classes along with Mr. Greenwell's adult class really have the greenhouse full.

Look what came in the mail at school! YES! FROM TEAM SEAVEY! 2021 Iditarod Champion! Dallas Seavey saw a pic of our musher banquet in his honor. A relative of his contacted me on his behalf and was thrilled with South Shelby Middle School...who wouldn't be? Right? So at her request, I sent the names of the students who followed Dallas and his AMAZING sled dog team. These classroom mushers cheered for Dallas during the Last Great Race On Earth. And Dallas sent each child a copy of his autobiography and a picture postcard of his racing team...but that's not the best part! This man personalized each book by addressing each child by name and writing a special message to each of them.❤️. Some of the comments from my students were..."Mrs. Wood, this is Christmas in April." Another..."He doesn't even know us, and Dallas Seavey sent us the story of his life." Another..."I will treasure this book for the rest of my life."... Dallas Seavey, if you are out there somewhere, I want you to know that ..."100 years from now, it will not matter, what kind of sled you drove, what kind of boots and coat you wore, how much training you did, how many dogs you owned, or how much money you won. But what WILL matter is that you made a difference in the life of a child." Thank you, from the students and staff of South Shelby Middle School.
