For American Education Week in November, The National Honor Society would like to honor the great educators at South Shelby. I have included a link to a Google Form that has every educator at South Shelby and we would like you to nominate 5 of them that you feel should be recognized for their great work. The 5 winners will be featured in the Shelby County Herald during American Education Week. They will also be awarded a classroom grant that was funded by local businesses. Please make your selection and include any small story of words of praise for your selections that may be used in the write-ups for the paper for each educator. Voting closes on October 15th!

Our 1st Quarter Elementary Leadership Roles are rolling! Thanks to our Student Leaders for their hard work making sure our school is the best it can be!

These elementary students completed a Circle of Control activity at home with their parents. The activity focused on Habit 1 of Highly Effective People. Habit 1: Be Proactive is about taking responsibility for your life. Proactive people recognize that they are “response-able.” They don’t blame circumstances, conditions, or conditioning for their behavior. They know they can choose their behavior. Reactive people, on the other hand, are often affected by their physical environment. They find external sources to blame for their behavior. Thanks to our families for completing this learning activity together!
