Please have your child record the title and author of the book they have read each day. Please sign your name to verify their reading credibility. Courtwarming week dress up fun
Students were busy in Language Arts this week. LA II finished reading the play The Importance of Being Earnest, LA III finished the Transcendentalists and wrote a classroom aphorism (motto), and CA III finished Moby Dick.

Lady Birds pick up the conference win 44-40 over Highland.
Med Term students studied layers of the integumentary system and common types of damage with a little movie magic. They researched one of the four types of wounds and recreated them using simple movie makeup techniques.
Foods class experimenting with recipes using strawberry yogurt. We decided on Yogurt bread with orange/honey glaze and chocolate covered strawberry yogurt bites.
South Shelby Scholar Bowl lost a couple hard fought matches to Highland.

Throughout high school, I have been involved in archery, band, musical theater, FCCLA, and NHS.

Picking on Mr. Hillard
What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most?
8th hour biology
Who do you admire the most and why?
My parents for always being there for me and being good christian influences to everyone.
What teacher had the biggest influence on you and why?
I would have to say Mr. Hillard because he makes learning science more fun than it could be. He’s always making sure we get the help we need in order to know what we are talking about in class. I am pretty sure he is the teacher I had classes with the most in high school.
What is the one thing you will miss most about South Shelby?
I’m not really sure to be quite honest. I’m ready to see what the next chapter of my life will be like.
JV Cardinals fall to Highland 36-30.
JV Lady Birds fall to Highland 33-20.
Today, these 6 boys conquered nerves and fears as they participated in the Jack Charles Schneider Foundation Camp and Contest at the winter Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association conference. They spent 6.5 hours learning and practicing the art of auctioneering before getting the opportunity to auction off 2 items to a live crowd. All of these boys did a great job. Peyson and Garrett placed in the top 10 of all the contestants and earned the opportunity to compete at the state contest this summer at the Missouri State Fair. If you see these boys, tell them congrats and ask them to share their new talent with you! Also, if you need a good group of ringmen or help at an upcoming auction, find one of these 6!

I'm involved in FBLA, Stuco, FFA, NHS, and Environmental club. I serve as the Historian for FFA, the secretary for NHS, President for Stuco, and Vice president of recycling for Environmental Club.
What is your favorite High School Memory?
My favorite high school memory is being a a water girl for the past 2 years, with the best group of girls each year.
What class in High School do you/did you enjoy the most?
My favorite class is my is 7th hour class, when all of us girls are in the class and distract each other with conversation instead of actually getting work done.
Who do you admire the most and why?
I really look up to my sister because I want to take after her and get really good grades and go to college.

The teacher that influenced me the most is Mrs. Wilcox, She had been my favorite teacher in preschool and continued to be into high school. She has helped me with many writing assignments, and even let me and a friend come crash her plan period almost daily junior year.

The thing I'll miss the most about South Shelby is my friends and all the many memories we have made together throughout the years. We have been a decently close group all four years and I hope that will continue being close as we graduate and go our separate ways.
