The second teacher that the NHS is recognizing for American Education Week is Mrs. Jen Gill. Mrs. Gill is one of South Shelby's many wonderful educators. She has served as a 4th grade teacher for 17 years. Some in the community have said,
"Mrs. Gill is awesome at what she does. She is very knowledgeable, and her fun, down-to-earth personality helps her students enjoy their time with her." "Mrs.
Gill always works hard and stays positive, even when life is tough. She makes learning fun, and her students want to be at school. She's also a great friend and is always willing to help inside of school and outside." While Mrs. Gill has overcome many struggles in her life, she continues to persevere and provide her students with the learning experience every child deserves. She will receive a $300 classroom grant made possible by local businesses that were posted earlier in the week and can be found in this week's edition of the Shelby County Herald.
